A Complete Check-Up
for Your Eyes

An optometric exam is a full evaluation of your vision, designed to measure visual quality and eye health through a series of specific tests.

During your visit, the optometrist will assess divseveral aspects, including your visual acuity, focusing ability and eye coordination.

The exam may also include a prescription for glasses or contact lenses, so you get the right correction for optimal vision.

‌At Siroki, we believe that effective glasses (or lenses) always start with a thorough, accurate eye exam.

Regular Check-Ups Matter!

Don’t wait until you notice vision problems. Often, eyesight declines gradually and your eyes adapt to the change, making it harder to realise something is wrong.

Prevention is key to maintaining healthy vision over time. Don’t wait, book your eye exam today.

Please Note

Optometric exams do not replace specialist eye doctor visits. Be sure to also see your ophthalmologist regularly.

What's the Difference?

Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, Optician

In Italy, different professionals work together to provide complete eye care. Each has a specific and complementary role:

Ophthalmologist

An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor specialising in ophthalmology. They diagnose and treat eye diseases medically and surgically, prescribe medications, perform surgery, and treat complex conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

Optometrist

A university-trained professional specialising in vision testing and corrective lenses. While they can't prescribe medications or perform surgery, they are trained to conduct detailed eye exams, detect anomalies, non-pathological conditions and provide vision therapy. Optometrists often work closely with ophthalmologists to manage complex cases.

Optician

A technician who specializes in making, fitting and selling glasses and contact lenses. They create and fit corrective devices based on prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists. They can't diagnose eye diseases or prescribe medications, but can perform routine vision screenings to assess the need for vision correction. They offer practical advice on using and maintaining glasses and contact lenses.

‌At Siroki, we believe in teamwork. Our experts collaborate to provide you with the best possible eye care.

Myopia Management

‌Myopia, or nearsightedness, is increasingly common worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), by 2050 half the global population will have myopia. Increased myopia correlates with increased risk of serious eye conditions such as cataracts, retinal detachment and glaucoma. That’s why the Siroki Visual Team specialises in myopia assessment and management, using innovative new solutions in both prescription lenses and contact lenses.

What are the most effective methods for slowing myopia?

Today there are systems that have been scientifically proven to slow myopia progression:

  • Peripheral defocus spectacle lenses
  • Peripheral defocus soft contact lenses
  • Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)

Through specialist exams and advanced instruments, we can recommend a personalised management plan for each patient. To offer maximum effectiveness in complete safety.

Medical Filters

Advanced Visual Protection and Comfort

Medical filters are special lenses designed to address various eye conditions and improve visual comfort. They can be used on healthy eyes or for therapeutic purposes, offering protection and vision optimization.

Medical filter functions include:

  • Glare Reduction: Ideal for those with photophobia (light sensitivity), these filters reduce light intensity reaching the eyes, offering greater visual comfort in bright environments.
  • UV Protection: Provide full protection against harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, preventing long-term damage to the retina and eye. Highly recommended for eye conditions requiring elevated protection.
  • Contrast Enhancement: These filters increase contrast perception, boosting object visibility in low-light or diffuse light conditions.
  • Blue Light Filtering: Reduce the amount of blue light emitted by digital screens, helping prevent visual fatigue and improving sleep quality.

Each type of filter offers targeted solutions based on individual needs, enhancing protection and visual quality.

Marginal Dry Eye Treatment

Dry eye is one of the most common but underestimated eye conditions. Caused by insufficient tear production or excessive evaporation, it can seriously affect daily comfort and quality of life. Burning, itching, light sensitivity, visual fatigue and blurred vision are just some symptoms associated with this condition. Dry eye is divided into two main categories: marginal and pathological dry eye. Unlike pathological dry eye, which is more serious and requires an ophthalmologist’s care, marginal dry eye is less severe with less significant signs and symptoms, occurring when there are external triggers like contact lenses—and this is what we treat.

‌In our clinics, we offer personalized, cutting-edge solutions for marginal dry eye treatment.

Our approach:

  • Accurate Assessment: We use state-of-the-art instruments to evaluate your eye condition.
  • Personalised Treatment Plan: We develop a personalised program that may include artificial tears, eye gels, or innovative therapies.
  • Consultation: We provide practical tips for adapting your daily habits to relieve dry eye symptoms.
  • Ongoing Monitoring: We closely follow your progress, adjusting treatment as needed.

Our goal is helping you regain the visual comfort you deserve, letting you face your days without the discomfort of dry eye.
